I am based in the beautiful county of Derbyshire, just outside the small town of Matlock. My love of upholstery started over 11 years ago, initially as a hobby which quickly became a way of life. It's wonderful to see a worn, unloved chair transform into a valued treasure.

My real interest is traditional upholstery, using skills and techniques that have been  passed down for centuries. It is a joy to work with webbing, springs, hair, coir, hessian, wadding, calico and to complete a project with beautiful natural fabrics.

I've completed Level 3 City and Guilds in Upholstery and The Association of Master Upholsterers three year Diploma achieving a distinction in both. After nearly 25 years working as a programme manager and tutor for Derbyshire Adult Education I now spend my time upholstering and tutoring upholstery.
